Text Box: What’s New at Gleniph

We are thrilled to have back home with us Gleniph Jasabelle and Gleniph De Ja Vu.  Jasabelle is a lovely big Anglo mare by Minstril Bay and is due to foal in November for our first Anglo baby in years, very excited about this one ! They have both settled in well and are looking great.

We have had to say farewell to a few broodmares who have gone to their new homes, Amaranda Carene has gone to live with Maria & Frank Dario in Victoria, hopefully she has some gorgeous coloured foals for them.  Whilst Brandy Crème Pussa has moved to Temora to live with Julia and Glen and from all reports she is happy as larry which is great to hear.  Hopefully she will also have some lovely foals for them.  I miss Brandy quite a bit but we can’t keep them all can we ??  We have decided to keep Brandy’s daughter, Gleniph Bombe Alaska and can’t wait for her to join the broodmares.  She was shown as a yearling for multi championships and perhaps can come out under saddle in the future.

Gleniph Jasabelle foaled a stunning filly on 14th November, 2010 by the highly successful and very beautiful Anglo stallion Concherto FF.  We haven’t bred an anglo baby for years and are so thrilled with this young lady.  She has already attended some foal shows and won plenty so we are looking forward to watching her grow and mature into a super saddle horse !

Eternal Starr foaled twins on the 8th November, 2010...what a surprise this was !  Both babies survived although the little tiny colt had to be taken away from Starr and his sister and was raised as an orphan.  As Starr was at Future Farms in Victoria to foal, a lovely lady down the road from them was willing to raise the colt and give him a great loving home.  She named him Elvis and he is a thriving young man now.  The filly, although also small, is just divine and so special.  Their sire is the super young stallion Crave FF and we are hoping for a great show future for this young lady.  She attended a foal show recently and won numerous Championships and plenty of hearts as well.  Her name is Wish Upon A Starr and we are pleased to announce that Eternal Starr has been sold to Future Farms and will no doubt produce more gorgeous babies for them.

We should have some exciting news shortly about some new girls to join us here at Gleniph…………..

Breeding season saw us having some troubles getting our mares into foal, but finally we had five mares preg tested positive and all are due in February 2012 so that will be a busy and exciting month for us.  This breeding season we are hoping to put quite a few of our mares in foal for the first time in ages and are very excited about the future foals here at Gleniph.  With Sovereign no longer able to serve mares we have decided to use numerous outside boys to see what we can achieve.
